Chapter 27 of Jake's adventures has gone for editing. I thought it would be just a gentle consolidation of various lines, but suddenly it exploded... that's it.
I think I've managed to do this wrong and only posted the foreward. But as soon as that is up I'll post another two chapters today, two tomorrow and the final two on sunday. This is a bit of a departure for me, but I will probably use the characters again since I rather like them. The format of using an Agatha Christie as a base also seemed to work, her plots were usually good, if the prose is perhaps a bit dated. And nobody does any shagging - I'm sure you'll tell me if it doesn't work - and it was quite fun to write, somewhat taxing because you have to make sure all the clues are in place but not too obvious.
Chapter 26. It's taken a while longer to finish this one, and so I'm taking a break for a while - I've no idea how long, I just need to do something slightly different, sort of recharge. I also have a number of things to attend to in the real world. So, enjoy this, and you can take the quote from either McArthur or Arnie - I'll be back!
Many thanks to all who gave help, I've now decided that the story will take a slightly different line, havibg the girl unconscious seem to be a bad idea.

Readers of Jake White will know that we have just left Lady Beatrice unconscious in a pool of blood - I'm feel queasy already - it's about 1860-65. What treatment would be given to the girl? How would she be kept alive... or not. I only want a few days before I can 'rescue' her.
