This is set aside for stories that are of a darker tone. Think of the old Twilight Zone series, or Outer Limits. Not horror, but where there very may well be a twist at the end that was not expected. Or the main character at the end may not have a "Happily After Ever" life.
And that does not mean they will not, either. It simply will not be in a way that is probably expected.

A series about a group of girls that attend a Catholic School. None of them think of themselves as prostitutes, but they do make sure that those that compensate them for dates are satisfied in the end.
After all, it's not prostitution if they don't have sex. And everybody knows that using their mouths is not sex, as they are still virgins.
