Memorial Day recommended reading list from Ron Jon

For Memorial Day 2026 I want to highlight a few Veterans centric stories some written specifically for Memorial Day, others just have a Veteran focus. In no specific order. I have read all of them and one I wrote myself. This list is not exclusive.

A touching Tour of Duty fanfiction dealing with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. Premier members only.

2 - Go for Broke by D.T. Iverson

WW II story by DT Iverson, Go For Broke, is very well written. He has several Memorial Day stories on his page. One of the best short story writers on SOL in my opinion.

3 - POW (Prisoner Of The Widows) by Joe J

POW by Joe J is one of the best written harem stories out there with a military main character. His last story was posted in 2024, not sure of his status.

4 - Silver Wings by Joe J

Silver Wings based on the authors experiences in Vietnam as a paratrooper, and the last story he posted back in 2024.

5 - Memorial Day - Remembrance by Pete Fox

A story I wrote based on a fiction characters experince in a war in 2028 in Europe, now he's home reflecting during a Memorial Day service.

6 - The Angels of Bataan by D.T. Iverson

Well written about nurses in Philippines in WW 2.

7 - In Honor of D-day by Jay Cantrell

A reader recommended poem, it's very good.
