For the most part I try to write fiction with explicit sex scenes, rather than “sex stories”. My work often includes taboo themes, including consensual incest (A Mutual Understanding, Substitute, Longshot). Physical violence is rare; when it appears, it is usually in the context of war, and is deeply consequential.
My stories are often set in the Great White North, or at least begin there (A Mutual Understanding, Resonance, Substitute). The stories are most often written in the first person, and are at least 10,000 words in length, with some exceptions (World Cup). Other common themes include mixed-race characters as minority identities inside larger cultures, (Resonance, Substitute), BDSM with dominant males and submissive women (A Mutual Understanding, Substitute, Longshot), technology and sociopolitical power dynamics. References to regional cuisine, physical exercise and literature also make frequent appearances in my work.
I enjoy creating complex characters who are challenged by the situations they are placed in; my stories resolve, but not always with "happily ever after" endings.
