As I write more I'm finding that my lead characters tend to be falling into a type — intelligent (I have no idea how to write a stupid character), gentle/easy going, loving, loyal, inwardly focused.
There are some things that I have learned are major turnoffs for me, so they are unlikely to show up in my writing, and if you're looking for those types of stories you're better off spending your time elsewhere. If you do see those codes, you'll know that a) it won't be shown explicitly and b) villains only. These include the entire section of BDSM story elements, rape, slavery and cheating. In particular, I find D/s (or just submissiveness in general) utterly repulsive.
Constructive criticism is welcome — particularly with technical or consistency issues.
