1: Aftermath by Al Steiner I know a lot of people have this as one of their favorite stories, but I'm not jumping on a bandwagon here. It was the first long story I read many many years ago, and I think is still the best. I read it again all the way through several years later. One of the only stories on here that I think I've fast forwarded through the "good parts" to get to what happens next.
