ObviousPseudonym: Favourites

1: Bec by BarBar
While slow and without any sex these are a brilliant view into the mind of a child with a fictional mental illness. This and the (currently) two sequels are at times fun, deadly serious, thought provoking and heart warming.
2: The Best of Both Worlds by Dilettante
I love the fun and light parts, and there is a large amount of both romance and sex, even if towards the end it seems like women are chucked at the protagonist willy-nilly. Linda especially and to some extent Elizabeth are poorly developed and unnecessary, with one minor character Chuck being better developed. If only Dilettante actually finished Laramie.
3: Rewind by Don Lockwood
In my opinion a whole lot better than Dance of a Lifetime this is a heart warming and sometimes incredibly sad story. Probably my favourite of the "return to being a child but knowing the future" stories yet, this is focused a lot on personal relationships between him and his friends. The rest of Frank's stories are great: Heroes makes me cry just about every time.
4: Songbirds by Jay Cantrell
I really love all of Jay's stories. They have great dialogue, excellent characterisation and normally a sweet and believable romance. The problems and relationship problems seem likely and don't feel overly contrived. One of my favourite authors, I could have picked out just about any of his stories.
5: A Special Hell by Detroitmechworks
I really liked this, and not just because the main character is a nerd. Pretty slow but creates a polygamous harem in a way that almost makes some sense! I also really liked Remix by the same author for the well thought out and well described reactions to dealing with going back in time at the same time as an unwilling sex change.
6: A Step Up by lsilverlyn
A great but sadly unfinished story. The only problem is that Mark's reaction to getting dumped at the beginning doesn't seem quite human: a problem which I can ignore here but in lsilverlyn's other major unfinished work, Modern Wizardry, really puts me off by not thinking like a human. Sort of like all those genie stories where they've always thought up three wishes a while back and include everything on the piece of paper coming true.
7: A Stitch In Time by Marsh Alien
Marsh Alien is another of those authors that I love just about everything from. A Stitch In Time is another romantic, heart warming tales where the protagonist turns their and those around them's lives around. I've read this one over and over.
8: Who The Hell Is B.O.B.? by Lubrican
While great I'm mostly adding this to add at the end of the list some great authors who while brilliant I can't identify standout titles. So, I also recommend Al Steiner, bludragon colt45, ElSol, Gina Marie Wylie, Joe J, Lubrican, and Ryan Sylander.
