Anyone have recommendation for stories where the characters actually talk to each other and resolve their problems instead of insist on holding idiot balls and not telling people stuff to force angst or Romeo&Juliet level of idiocy.

Just some questions...What do you have against idiots? Why don't you want people to play with their testicles? Do only the mentally average or better get the enjoyment of having their dangle tackle fondelled?
Show some love to the mentally challenged, I say.
Brainist bigot!
;p just kidding
For a moment, I thought that you were looking for a story about eunuchs or one minus sports that feature balls.
Sorry, I don't hold with you calling anything related to "The Bard" as "idiocy." The problem with 21st-century folks is that they don't understand the social mores and conventions of 16th and 17th-century people. Within that light, the situation in Romeo and Juliet was not only plausible but not totally uncommon (though the ending was a little extreme).
Romeo and Juliet were written as idiots, that was the point o the play. Why they were idiots in the view of the people of the time may have been very different from why we'd view them as idiots. The unfortunate fact is that people acting like morons is quite plausible, that doesn't mean I want to read about stories with characters like that.
Again, you're viewing Romeo and Juliet through the lens of a 21st-century person. Sexual/social mores of a different era greatly affected their ability to live the lives they wanted to live. Do you think that they may have behaved differently if they lived in the 21st Century? My guess is that they would have.
lol. My muse has me stuck on the third installment (and I'm trying to finish something else right now). My muse is happy to let me defend Shakespeare, though (not that he really needs defending, lol).
No, I'm not. Yes sexual/social mores were different, but that doesn't change the fact Romeo & Juliet were idiots.
Romeo & Juliet was a moral story showing the inevitable fate that will happen to idiot kids who don't do as they're told.
Today people often go on about the great romance in the play, but that wasn't the point when it was written, the point was the two idiots disobeyed their elders and ended up dead.

That would be more convincing if you could cite someone other than you who believes that.
I always thought it was about the two families putting ancient grudges/feuds above the welfare of their children.

The moral behind the story in Romeo and Juliet is to let old prejudices go and to not let emotions control one's life. If the Capulets and Montagues had let their family rivalry stay in the past and had not let their emotions dictate their actions, it is likely that Romeo and Juliet would not have died as they did.

Amen! This goes to my position that social mores of the day were significantly different than they are now. Due to high mortality rates, "family" came before "individual." Family grudges could be existential threats to a family. Romeo and Juliet were not "idiots." Yes, they were flawed, but they were stuck in a situation beyond their ability to overcome (though they came close to doing so... spoiler alert, lol).

@Unicornzvi
I didn't realize how absurdly old-timey your views on love, morality, and family obligation are. It's amazing that your views are more conservative than a 17th Century playwright, Please see the definition of the word "dinosaur," lol.
How about stories with idiot no balls? I vaguely recall at least one tale that involved a drunken ride on a a car hood with an old style hood ornament. One sudden stop later and MC was idiot no balls.
