I believe SirWinston's Star Dancer had the humans eventually meeting aliens.
I believe Crumbly had a trilogy? involving (genetically modified) humans traveling to a galactic empire to 'win' a war there, lead a successful revolt, and then leave in search of somewhere they'd be more welcomed.
The Swarm Cycle regularly has humans heading to other worlds. Occasionally they meet aliens other than the ones that need killin'.
The pinwheel? (I think) universe has plenty of alien/human interaction.
