I am looking for stories with a prostitute MC that strives to become the best prostitute he/she can be and is proud of her/his work.
He/She should (exagerated) think like a model in regards to her/his looks, an athlete in regards to her /his fitness and endurance and a scientist in regards to his/her knowledge and techniques.
Bonus points for conflict with other prostitutes that see that type of work in an "instincts are enough" style.
The only one I can think of that comes anywhere close is Wes Boyd's Magic Carpet, which on his spearfishlaketales site, not here any more. Over the course of the story, the MC goes from being a new turnout to being the nation's most famous prostitute.
Maybe one of the stories from the Compassionate Courtesans universe...
Then there were the whores who picked a telepath/mind controller to be their new pimp in ElSol's Bring Me To Life...
But the call girl/pilot/weapons engineer from Wes Boyd's stories would be the best bet.
There is a secondary character in Jezzaz's Metamorph who is a proud escort, she teachs the MC how to be a better lover.

I think I remember Magic Carpet. I read that when it was still here. It is the closest story I can think of. That's why I asked. :-)
Bring Me To Life is a bit too apocalyptic for my mood. Same goes for Metamorph. Not looking for a cheating wife story at the moment.
I'll look into Compassionate Courtesan, but it seems like the wrong PoV for what I am looking for.

Well, I did reread the Magic Carpet. While it is a good story and I would recommend it, it did not scratch that particular itch.
The MC is a reluctant prostitute, first to gain money and later to keep her libido under control. I did not read a particular interest of improvement as a prostitute into her behaviour. While not disliking the job, she bemoans being pushed into it for decades. She did not choose the job for herself.
If anyone has any more ideas, I would be thankfull.

When her father kicked her out and labelled her a whore, she decided to be that which he had wrongfully labelled her as.
It was her choice to be 'turned out'.
Of course there are limited options for a young woman who needs enough income to put herself through college whilst paying the costs of owning and flying a light aircraft. It is hardly surprising that so many students do porn to pay for education, often simply to avoid graduating with crippling loan debts.
Are there stories where prostitution is a viable trade that can be learned at a trade college like electricians and plumbers?

The Best Thousand Dollars I Ever Spent by Lubrican has some of these elements. A couple of characters there are "elite escorts" and are proud of that.
Jezzaz's Metamorph has an escort minor character in the redemption arc of the MC. She is proud of her abilities and teaches the MC how to seduce and arouse a woman.
