I once read a story a while ago where the mc (who was sent back in time by something i can't reemember) fell in love with a girl and she died from some kinda desease. i'm looking for stories like that where he struggles to find love again.(minus the time travel)

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Rewind by Don Lockwood. Otherwise it'd probably be Charlie Foxtrot's doover story A New Past.
