Looking for something similar to the Morales and Lobo sections of Arlene and Jeff. If you haven't read that, think man and his trusty hound surviving in a harsh wilderness. Don't particularly care if the story has sex but I do want something that will take time to get through.

Well, one I just finished I guess you could also call "A Girl and her Dog". If you consider that at least sometimes, the dog stands over four foot tall at the shoulders.
