"Island Mine" Author

dougb ๐Ÿšซ

One of my favorite authors here is Refusenik who has 3 stories posted. His best is "Island Mine" that I strongly recommended. It is ripe for a sequel and when it was first published I sent him a message stating that. (never heard back) Refusenik hasn't posted here since 2013. Has anyone found him on another site? If so, where?

The simple answer is "we don't know". On the ReaderInfo site his status is listed as "Unknown".

The e-mail cited below is roughly two and a half years old. I haven't heard from him since. Nor have I sent him anything.

" Hope you're well. I'm doing great. Business is going like gang busters and has gone in directions I could not have predicted.

Haven't written a lick of fiction in 2+ years. I'll get back to it someday, but it will have to be a point where I can give it the time it needs.

Looks like I've gotten a couple of requests by other authors to continue on the series. If you want to play messenger and pass along my sentiments?

For the record,I'm fine with it. Long as I retain all rights to the original material (that's a given) and the audience is made aware that whatever path the 'new' authors take is entirely their own. Anything I might choose to write within those universes, in some distant the future, would chart a completely independent path. No, I won't share plot outlines, notes, or thoughts I had about that. That would be cheating, ha!"

Keet and pcbondsman, thank you both for your response. I'm hoping that Refusenik will see this and decide that the Covid lockdown is a perfect time to continue this story. Or if not him, someone else since it appears Refusenik has given his permission. Again, thank you both for posting.

Someone recently posted in another thread that refusenik was no longer breathing. Laz asked for details, but none were provided that I recall. Still, probably best not getting your hopes up.

bk69, I am so sorry to hear this news. I hope you are mistaken. If not.......other authors "Island Mine" just screams for a sequel. Someone? Anyone? (and NO I can't write my way out of a paper bag)
