i'm sick of reading how because im a guy i always want sex. it seems like the mc in allot of stories ive read bash themselves extremly hard in order to compliment a girl... and the girl does nothing to stop him. if you loved someone wouldn't you want them to not speck about themselves so bad. im looking for stories where the girl works on mc's self-confidence as much as he works on hers
Rlfj's Grim Reaper series has that. She's from money and genius smart, he is all around average. He goes to war and comes back with PTSD, she helps him recover. They live happily ever after, but there are lots of adventures along the way.

But really, the problem is, most guys are either somewhat self-conscious and use some amount of self-deprecating humor, or they're overconfident assholes. And since assholes are less appealing as main characters (because if readers can't self-identify with a main character, the story doesn't have as much impact, and if readers find themselves self-identifying with an asshole they're not going to be happy) usually only the first group becomes main character material.
Or 'Heroes'. Or any of his NiS stories. Or 'Curse of the Bambino'. Or...I'm drawing a blank on the name of the one with the girl with epilepsy. Or "Stacy's Mom". But yeah, there's a reason I simply suggested Don's stories and didn't specifically name one.
