Several come to mind.
The 'alien spaceship AI telepathically linked to MC' is kinda a meme. GoldenMage's Acension of the Alpha Male, SirWinston's series that I can't recall the name of, a handful of similar ones. There was a decent PostApoc story with a guy who came into possession of such a alien AI.
Then there was the 'alien symbiote' type stories, like The Energists or Island Mine and a few others.
There was a story with a terrestrial AI that picked someone to work with (I believe 'Io'. Embarrassing that I can't remember more details, considering I edited a few chapters.)
I also recall one where a demon did power someone it was 'possessing'...
And of course, there's the whole Wheel of Time series... where the MC basically learns how to control magic from the ghost of one of his past lives (who just happens to be completely insane)
