U stated reading many stories of this theme, and i am an fan both of the books and the series. I did feel a but left out though from the Last season if the show. Feeling like some plotlines were ruined or left out. I am a but of romantic although i do like the steamy spiced up sex scenes. However i am nit looking for a sex craved only focus stroke story. I would like elaborate polts and some civilaisation rebuilding in this case, expoliring and taking the story forwards to Nnew adventures, not just ending if or prolonging it. Like managing the kingdom etc.. A fantasy world and universe so many diffrent pissibilties a brigh world and so many places unexplored... Any suggestions ir at least food for though for futyre stories?? Is there Any stories of this theme ou there?

Stirling's novels of the Change, starting with Dies The Fire. These are all dead tree press, through Tor. The fan fiction was good enough that several anthologies have been printed.

Basic plot summary, the old gods (or alien space bats) decide to (accidentally) shut down higher level energy technology (mess with the laws of physics). Planes fall from the sky, internal combustion engines no longer work, gunpower fizzles. High pressure steam no longer works.
The great dying begins. While 90% of the worlds population dies of hunger and thirst in a few weeks, the weird and obssessive, Wiccans, survivalists, General officers and professors with historic fantasies, Ren Fair craftsmen, the society for creative anachronism, reservation Indians and Asatru, become seed pearls that new social groups coalesce around in the hope of surviving in the new world. These disparate groups inevitablely clash as they grow in territory and population. It gets weirder when gods and demons start manifesting through their followers...
