having re read Lucky Jim 1/2 the A Stupid Boy Stories and
Matt's Crazy Corner of the World and Florida friends im looking for stories with the danger-sense/empathy or coming of age or where the person/s gain funds from agency's through helping them etc can anyone recommend any please or slivers of all three mixed in the stories

But I can recommend MACK by Ernest Bywater.
He has others that he has written. It might titled : power play or Kim.
Also, Incredible Changes has danger with the agencies at various chapters.

I had that problem with my recent story. I manually listed 'Coming of Age' as an additional code in my story description.

Yes, there is. On category search once you have selected all the tags you want. At the bottom past the tags are more search options. The very first one is story genre. You can select coming of age there.

Good point, not exactly a stand out placement, might also help if the genre listed were in alphabetical order...?

Might be worth noting that it is not necessary to select any tags first, you could just select the desired genre.
