Forum: Story Recommendations

Hello everyone. I just finished "A Reluctant Hero" by Douglas Fox for the second time and it got me in the mood for more survival style stories (longer than 200kb). These can either be modern day or time travel stories. I've read the Surviving series by Scotland-The-Brave as well as all his other stuff. I've tried a few different stories by Aubie56, I really liked "A Close Call", but I've given up on a few other stories when the main character gets to bring back whatever he wants. I don't want things to be too easy for the MC. Post-Apocalyptic would work as well if the MC is trying to survive in the wild. I'm mainly scared that all the recommendations I'm going to get are things I've already read. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, thanks everyone.

You could try Getting By by Shakes_Peer2B.

There's a sequel called Getting Ahead, which is unfinished and for some reason I never read. Also some short stories in the same world, called the Justiceman series.

google "wolf and iron" by gordon r. dickson. It was a great survival story. I bought it at a used book store several years ago and I must have read it 10 times over the years

Very cool, thanks everyone. I've already read those first three and your story Ernest. They were all great. A New Past isn't a survival story but it was great read anyway (just so that those of you who are also looking for survival stories know.) I'm going to start with Getting By, and then check out The Blind Man.
