I was wondering if anyone could point me to a story on here were a normal everyday person saves/helps out someone "rich" or influential?
The reason i ask is because in the story i'm writing i'm planning to write an adventure like this and i'd like to read a few similar stories to see what's been done.
You should read some of DotB's stories like Car 54 and Beyond the Mirror for some ideas along those lines. He has some others on his own website you may find worth reading too.

'Unending Night' by Jay Cantrell. There is a sequel but it's more melodrama than drama and inferior IMO, despite its higher score.

I don't get the OP. You help people. Doesn't matter their monetary status or "influence". You just help. Still, I am racking my brain to think of a way I can help in this.
It's almost Horatio Algier with "Pay it Forward" combined.
The only ones I can recall offhand are characters who are down and out helping others who were even further down and further out.

In the real world, it is usually the case that the 'haves' help the 'have-nots.' Whether the have-nots suffer financially, from natural disaster, war, or other catastrophe in their lives. The two may be equal under otherwise ordinary circumstances. I understand what the OP is looking for. It sounds like an interesting story idea.
There are a few ways to do this.
Going all the way back to when the fairy tales weren't meant for children: Benevolent king goes out among his people dressed as a beggar. Later those who helped him are greatly rewarded.
An idea I've toyed with is very wealthy old man get's mugged and left for dead. He survives, barely, but finds him self with no money (or credit/debit cards), no ID, no cell phone. No way to prove his identity nor any easy way to contact someone who would know him. A young (mid to late teens) man encounters him and helps him, perhaps taking him to a police station or hospital. A few years later the old man dies of natural causes. It turns out that he had no heirs of his own and left everything to his rescuer.
If you want to get into the supernatural/paranormal, along the lines of the king disguised as a beggar, in modern times, one of the ancient pagan gods walks the earth in disguise looking for a "worthy" successor.
Or for something a little more ordinary, wealthy person is attacked and some one poor to middle class, but with combat skills comes across the attack in progress and rescues the wealthy victim.

Not quite the same thing, but in Mage by John Wales the main character helps an old man who turns out to be a magician.

A story that is close to this is Paul Phenomenon's Protect and Serve. It is a Premier Member only story though. Here is the story description and other info:
Description: What would you do if you woke up in a hospital with no memories? To complicate your answer, add that for some reason you can also read minds. You know no one. You don't even know your own name. You have no money. You are without recourses of any kind. Then you discover that someone you don't know wants you dead for reasons you also don't know. Just by being in the thread should tell you that the MC finds out that he is wealthy and he is helped by people in a much lower tax bracket. Great story if you have access to it.
