I have been an avid reader all of my life. As a teenager in western Iowa with no social skills to speak of, and no opportunity to partake of what social life there was, I have always found solace in reading. Once I found the online world I devoured the stories if found at ASSTR, and branched out from there. Nowadays, SOL is my home, so to speak. I am 71, and retired so I have a lot of free time. I spend most of it reading, new stories when I find one interesting, and rereading a lot of the ones I have enjoyed in the past. Nowadays I spend most of my time here at SOL, like I was tonight. I got the urge to reread some Wes Boyd. I kind of fell into hitting my favorite parts of Magic Carpet. Now that I've gotten into it, I will probably wind up rereading the entire story. I was originally just going to share this with Wes, but since he is no longer with us I'm just doing it here. If you haven't read any of his work I seriously urge you to check his stories out.
