I am in the mood for long story with golfing as a major element.
I have read and enjoyed "A Golfer's Dream" by TheCaddy, Johnny Masters by (variously named) Richard, "Tons a' Tits Tess" by Tony Stevens.
Any other recs?

I can't remember the title, but there was one recently where he went to France to improve his game. Maybe someone else will remember more.
If you are a premier member, there is this one by Richard the Third:

I remembered... Lightning in a Bottle by Phil Brown https://storiesonline.net/a/Phil_Brown
The Richard Jackson series by Banadin has a strong golfing element, but I think it's no longer on SOL. Paddle up the big river and you can find it.
There was a story where the protagonist is an orphan. He is a star college quarterback, later goes pro. He finds out his high school girlfriend got pregnant, and he has a daughter with her he didn'y know about. He also golfs, and his main squeeze is a pro golfer.
Not overly long but
'Hole in Four' by just-this-guy

Maybe not as long as some of the others here, but https://storiesonline.net/s/69980/coming-from-behind by Coaster2 is worth a look.
While https://storiesonline.net/s/56290/path-to-glory by Brendan Buckley has a quarterback as its MC, golf becomes increasingly important as the story progresses. I've just done a text search on the story and the first mention of golf is in chapter 11, it is chapter 17 before it becomes more central.

Thank you! As it happens, I read and enjoyed both of those.

More of a cheating wife story, with golf as a background.

Banadin's Richard Jackson Saga has high school golf as one of the minor plot lines.
Actually, I recalled that StarFleet Carl's "A True History" has quite a bit of golf playing, but it's a minor part of the whole novel (which is 2+ million words split into 5 parts).
I recall a story about an exec in a company that handled mergers, I think in Chicago. He got burned out and quit. Took a drive to the Northwest. Happened on a golf course that had seen better days, and was in danger of being sold to be part of a development. He steps in and buys the course, and meets a lady pro golfer who agrees to help him. There is the prototypical Scots groundskeeper as well. Good story.
Found it! "Coming From Behind" by Coaster2. A burned-out executive quits his job and heads west seeking a new life.

Hate to be that guy, but we are on a writing site after all. You mean "stereotypical," not "prototypical". Prototypical refers to the first or an early but influential example of something.
So Mario Bros is the prototypical platforming game (not quite the first, but certainly the one people know) while Trine is a fairly stereotypical platform game.
My Summer Job by Jack Spratt
Andy is chomping at the bit as spring arrives. The new golfing season is close and the thoughts of his many interesting experiences from last season has him excited and wanting more as he looks forward to caddying. He also will be continuing his lawn care for the summer. He meets one of his teachers, and three of her friends on the course, and ends up caddying for one of them Aliyah. Close friendships develop. Andy's relationship with his sister continues.
Westside24 has several.
17th Birthday by SmokingDriver several of his stories involve golf(pen name foreshadowing maybe), this effects the story line the most. The Hindsight series are the others of his that contain golf. In that one it is a main plot point in the first before the MC graduates college. Then his love of the game becomes background.
There is a series by TheCaddy {sic] called 'A Golfers Dream'. It has been a long time since i read it, but I think it is what you are looking fot.
