There are a number of stories with Handyman (or Handy Man) in the title that might work. JRyter's is his usual stuff, but it is about a handyman, but he has other stories as well (e.g. The Custodian and Helpless)
D A Porter's Ishmael is about a dockworker, the main character in John's Story starts off as a roofer.
Janna Leonard's Ashlee is from the POV of an electrician
RejectReality has Curl and Figure about a sawyer, Summer's Heat is about a guy who works at a power plant. There may be more.
I'm sure several of happyhugo's stories qualify, https://storiesonline.net/s/60851/ashley-and-milo for a start.
Consistent with my standpoint: "if Todd_d172 is not the answer you are asking the wrong question", do you consider running a junkyard to be a match? Todd has several, An Angry Man, An Unreasonable Man, An Implacable Man, An Unstoppable Man. The Milk Run follows on from then but does not fit.
Going back to happyhugo, he has one along those lines but I don't think it is the obvious one (Junkin Duncan) although I could be wrong there.
Does the story have to be contemporary? Argon has Bente the Collier which is set in the 16th century. He also has Pelle the Collier (noticing a theme here) set around the same time, but the emphasis is different.
Overall, happyhugo is probably the best match.
oyster50's Smart Girls universe has plenty of stories involving engineers and teens. I'm not sure whether any include tradesmen, but engineers might be close enough.

There is Jason, who is an electrical technician; they actually do most of the work the engineers plan. He appears in both Cindy and Christina as a support character but gets more central as the story progresses.
There is Jason, who is an electrical technician;
And there is Carl Primeaux, the lead technician on a project and his assistant technician Kim Soon Yi, called Sunny.
(in Sunny by oyster50).
HM.
Though it begins to wander fairly quickly Poor little cassie by Demonhead starts out with tradesmen. I've not read past the first maybe half dozen chapters, and on a different 'machine' but it may scratch an itch if your that way inclined
Found this don't know ifit fits what you want.
The Engineer โ a series by Aurora
A series of stories about an engineer and what happens in his life as he gradually builds a business.
I think there's a multifecta in Lazlo Zalezac's Thunder and Lightening, even if you discount the MC who (initially) is just a sales clerk. There's not much for many of the lesser characters, but there seems to be quite a few of them.
Dual Writer's Florida Friends series starts off with Steve being a welder. He later branches off into various businesses, but there is a chunk of welding work early on, and he also hires a bunch of mechanics and painters.
I am currently in the middle of the story you are looking for.
JRyter's The Handy Man. A bawdy tale of a redundant plant manager's attempt to rebuild his life as a local handy man. Lots of sex and lots of humor and not a few tips on small handy-man projects. The main tip being, get a naked teen assistant.
