What is the story here that keeps you coming back for more? The one you have to reread every so often. For me these range from Refuseniks Human Phoenix to Lazlo's Magic and the unfinished More Magic. Meaning I have varied interests. So folks let everyone know what are those stories that keep you interested after many readings.

I have been re-reading his Emend by Eclipse and thought to mention that if Lucifer were spelled Lucy Fur there could be a different character assigned to that name.

Of course, I'll reply with my first story, "Mayhem in a Pill." But in the spirit of the question, I'd have to agree with your original author but a different story.

I also love Refusenik's "Human Phoenix," but my favorite story would be his nearly perfect "Island Mine." I have often used it as a nice reward for finishing a chapter within a month of the previous chapter posting. But if I could find a better personal reward for writing quicker, I'd be willing to try it, just to be able to read "Island Mine" much more often.

(Seeing if my wife also reads my writing when I answer blog questions.)

Pretty much everything on my list of favorite stories is on there because I reread it.

(I also reread my own stuffβ€”because my main reason for writing now it because I want to read a story that no one else is telling, o have write it myself.)

I've got 93K files @ 5hb of storage in my SOL directory. I will wander the files and stop and reread a few. (It's great to be retired with enough income for my needs) Lately I have bee binging on Bobby Brant and George McVey. But if I have to list some favorites, Fantay Lover and Ernest Bywater are at the top of the list. There are several of the Swarm author near the top as well.
Ernest took a lot of great eequels with him. Maybee he can be our first real ghostwriter.

I hope you saved copies of any of his stories that you hadn't read. Allegedly he's decamped :-(

Yes, given my predilection to download ALL of an author's stories if I like the one(s) I have read, I'm pretty sure I have all of his stories.

Did he give a reason for disappearing?

Did he give a reason for disappearing?

I think he got tired of people downloading his stories. LOL

Did he give a reason for disappearing?

As I understand it he followed blackrandi here and followed her out when she left.

@awnlee jawking

He is still on that other site which shall not be mentioned.

I have to add the 'tupid Boy' and 'Better Man' series to my iist. Some of his other stories are pretty good too.

And to stop out of the SOL universe we have The Lord of the Rings, Honor Harrington, and John Ringo.

What it boils down to is that these are the authors/torie that I don't read, I experience them. I can go to one, pick a scene, and drop into the story at that point. Usually I wind up going back and rereading the whole story.

That might be the best description I have heard to describe my rereading something. I tip my hat to you Sir. Well Said.

Thank You everyone for your suggestions. Can't find Bobby Brant. Damn, really liked his stuff. The one about his Fathers car was great.

Search for author as 1 word on L site… it's there as "his daddy's car" along with the prequel "1990", and following on stories "change", "searching" and "elements"

After being a SOL subscriber for years I have many authors and stories that I revisit often. I know I will miss a number of stories that should be on this list, but with creeping CRS I am happy to remember to list these -- Sorry for any duplications with any already mentioned.

Dual Writer - Florida Friends
G Younger - Stupid Boy, Better Man and Third Son
Argon - Anthony Carter Universe
Reluctant Sir - Dark Days series
Colt 45 - Sea King, Ascension and Mayhe
Refusnik - Human Phoenix and Human Man
Celtic Cowboy - Love West of the Pecos
FantasyLover - Of Honor and Betrayal
The Scot - Hawk and the Chipmunk, Gunslinger, and Ashes to Ashes
Ernest Bywater - Shiloh with The Scot, Finding Home and Life in the Suburbs Universe
Morgan - Kathy, Ali Clifford Saga
Shrink42 - Banner Year and Redemption
T-Rix and Aubie56- Indian Legacy Universe
Woodmanone - The Trilogy and More & just about everything else Woodie has on SOL
Aubie56 - Matthew Sullivan and Sarah York Universe and just about everything else Aubie56 has posted here.

Drat - knew I would omit some who keep me re-reading their stories - JRyter and Aroslav. With these two, just pick any story. The one that brought me to SOL in 2003 was Always Loved Her by General Principle.
