Zombie apocalypse

Matic07 ๐Ÿšซ

Merry Christmas Everyone, any good zombie apocalypse stories.
Preferably with male MC (badass if you can)

I don't fancy zombie apocalypse stories.
But the "Black Tide Rising" series by John Ringo is different enough. I like the Smith family especially the main hero, the thirteen yo Faith.
When questioned by a marine colonel about her confirmed kills
/used munition ratio she answered "zombies don't duck".

Sorry, it's dead tree and eBook editions by Baen.

HM.

Barbie guns and bunker gear for getting in the scrum!

I'd second your recommendation for Ringo's series, and yes, Faith is satisfyingly OTT. Those who have only read the first four books in the series once might not notice, but there are numerous glaring errors scattered throughout the books, which are sufficiently jarring as to annoy. That aside, yes they are an enjoyable read, books 5 and onwards, not so much.

the first four books

That's because the first four were all his, while the rest of them were either anthologies or "co-written."

I still like it when they take the speed governor off of Trixie and make zombie goulash on the road.

When I recommend the series to someone I usually suggest to only read the first three, but that they'll want to read the fourth since they'll be invested at that point.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a running theme with Ringo. First book or two in a series are a lot of fun if you don't think about them too deeply, third is entertaining but problematic, anything after that starts rolling downhill quickly.

Great ideas, decent storytelling, lousy follow-through. Makes for a fun read but a problematic re-read.

Zombies, Werewolves, Vampires, and Other Improbable Things by ElSol.

The Ex-Heroes series by Peter Clines has an interesting premise - zombie apocalypse in a superhero world. The main character heroes are powerful enough to control and protect a settlement but not to fix the whole world. One warning, he's stopped writing them because they don't sell as well as his other stuff.

Well, I _was_ gonna say AgroDavid's "Life, Love, and all That" posted 2014-2015 was the best Zombie Apocalypse story I've ever read, but it seems to have gone away.

How about a dead tree book explaining the Zombie Apocalypse? The Ladybird Books date back decades and were aimed at children, the new ones are aimed at people who grew up with the originals.

Oh, and (Brian) "Lara" is the name of a very well known Caribbean cricket player. Fittingly in this context, he retired years ago.

This does not fit your request at all but it is a fun resource on the subject.
