Off the top of my head, my favorites here are Mushroom's 'Bohica' and Lazarus Valentine's 'The Omega Touch'. Bohica, the hero, is just strange enough to be intriguing.

Thanks, but it is actually a "Universe" named "The Night of Madness", and the three main books I have finished so far (Bohica, Dire Wolf and Fang, and The Sensei) are named after the main character in that story. But Bohica is indeed the first of that series.

Those are the three main books, but there is another I have started ("Night of Madness: Battle Royale"), 5 short stories, and a "Writers Bible". And as it is semi-open, several others have added their own stories as well.

And thank you, I found Bohica as a character was fun to write. They all were, as each had their own issues that they had to deal with, in addition to becoming "superheroes".

Wait a minute... You actually named a character "Bend Over, Here It Comes Again" ?!?!? Is that character's love interest named Maiya "My Ass Is Your Ass"? lol

Yep, I sure did.

Although to be fair, online I have been using "Bohica" off and on for decades. Generally when my usual names are taken, and if somebody was never in the military so is not familiar with the term it does kinda sound like a name.

In fact, I have been using "Bohica" in Second Life for over 14 years, and only a couple I have run across in all that time have actually known what it stood for.

But that is not their "real name", but their "Superhero name", that the character had picked up from their father (who had been a Marine in the Gulf War).

Just as Dianne Wong and Mr. Jangles became "Dire Wolf and Fang", and Clint Lee became "The Sensei". Each of the superheroes in the series were "created" at the same time from an unexplained event, and their names each more or less came to them.

But they are not all typical "comic book names". One of the more minor ones uses the superhero name of "Carol", in honor of her late mother. And another "Doughboy", because of his huge girth, and more than passing resemblance to the Pillsbury "Poppin' Fresh" mascot.

But no, their love interest is not Maiya. It is Gloria. And Eric. And that all makes sense, when shortly after the starting the reader realizes the character was born female (actually a slightly small Jewish gal), and when as Bohica, she is a large and tall black man. If you notice, even as writing this I was very careful in the use of pronouns, using gender-neutral ones which is how I always write about Chris-Bohica. And part of the story is how a heterosexual female that shares a mind and body with a heterosexual male have to come to term with their unique form of "multiple-personality disorder".
