If I search for "cheerleaders" in the text of stories on SOL, it says there are exactly 1,000 of them. I suspect that means that the search engine has an imposed limit of 1,000 and that there are probably more than that.
What I am looking for is stories that treat cheerleading as something serious - not just as sluts whose purpose is to supply sex for football players. Not just that they are a clique who lord it over other girls.
I believe that at least some cheerleaders treat cheerleading as a sport - that they are as athletic as any of the high school organized sports teams. That's what I'm looking for and cannot find it by using the search function on SOL. So, I must ask people who read whether they recall such a story or stories.
I am not suggesting that these stories must exclude sex or Queen Bee characters - but that cheerleaders be considered real people who can be just as studious as any straight-A student and just as athletic as any athlete and just as sex-driven OR NOT as any student who is not a cheerleader.

aroslav, the Team Manager series shows cheer leading as a real sport with respected athletes.

Grey Wolf's Variation on a Theme series has a cheerleader component beginning in, I believe, Book 3. The primary cheerleader character is presented as extraordinarily sexually attractive, although not sexually active (I think -- maybe she was at one point? Can't remember), driven, academically high performing, and a social manipulator, but generally for "good" ends.

I know there is at least one story here on SOL where the guy's wife was the cheerleading sponsor. Something happened, she died or divorced or was gone for some other reason, and the husband took over her duties. I'm sure there was some sex involved but it wasn't the focus of the story.

When I get time I will try to hunt it down.

PS: The author also wrote several stories involving King Arthur and/or knights, etc.

OK, the author I was remembering is Stepdad. But I think there is probably going to be a bigger level of sex than I think the poster is looking for. His stories are always an enjoyable read if a little twisted at times.
