Submit button not working

Remus2 ๐Ÿšซ

Firefox focus on android, submit button for browsing files to upload not working?

The submission system, for stories? It's a standard submit button. If it's not working, then it's a browser issue.

For stories yes. Where it gets to file upload, then the browse files button.

As I said before, it's a standard html 'file' input. There is nothing in particular about it on our end of things.

You need to check the browser. Either change browsers or reboot the device.

Thanks for the assistance. Changing browsers is easy enough.

Changing browsers worked. However, when I look for the file, it doesn't recognize docx but does recognize pdf. Should I save as pdf instead?

it doesn't recognize docx but does recognize pdf.

That's probably because you don't have an app installed that 'knows' docx (i.e. Word, LibreOffice).

It saves the docx file and is written in the same app (Polaris 5).
It's when I click the upload for submitting the story. When the menu opens, none of the docx files on this device show.

But is the document saved with the .docx extension? I think I remember from a time ago that Polaris saved as .pdf but it was actually a docx so renaming the extension was needed. I have no idea if that is still the case or is the actual problem.

ETA: Maybe you can check with a file browser if the files do have the correct .docx extension.

This turned out to be the hint I needed.
As I understand it now, it's a limitation of the device that is the problem. After some searching, I saw where specific apps were needed for file transfers on early versions of Droid files.
I wired this device to a Win7 and found the same problem in upload from device to the laptop.
Should anyone else have the problem, they need to get the files off the device first. Cloud, email, apps, whatever, then transfer from a more friendly device.

We can't process PDF files.

I don't know why your browser is filtering out .docx files. The FILE input type doesn't have controls for what file type should be allowed, so it's not something that I can fix for you.

Two solutions:

1 - If your file has no formatting to be retained (italics or bold), then copy the text and paste it into the form instead of attaching a .docx.

2 - If the file has formatting, then do the paste thing, but type a short message that the file will be emailed, and then email the .docx file to my email address: lazeez at storiesonline.net.
