Question about "comments notifications"

Quasirandom ๐Ÿšซ

In the Messaging & Notifications settings, how does the "Notify by email when comments posted" setting supposed to work? Is it comments/replies to your post/comment in the forums, or comments to a story you've posted, or replies to a comment you've made to a story?

I have it set to yes, and I've never gotten an email for any of those. I do get emails for successful posting of a story/chapter.

But did you change the settings?

The default is to leave you alone.

Yes โ€” it's been set to send 'em for a long time.

I fixed a bug in the commenting software and posted a test message to one of your stories. I deleted the comment of course.

Let me know if you do or don't get the notification. It should work if your preference is set to notify on comment.

I did indeed get a notification: my first ever. Thanks!

Please make sure that any notifications that end up in your spam/junk folder is moved to the inbox before deletion.

That greatly affects the score of the server among various mail servers and affects the system's ability to send notifications for everybody.

That is SOP for me, for notifications I want โ€” I want to train the spam filter right.

I hope it's safe to assume you have SPF, DMARC, etc, set up for your sending domains, and you use Google's delivery tools for domain admins (Goggle does not have to host your domain to use them).

That should help you avoid deliverability problems (though not eliminate them). No to mention making sure your hosting provider is not listed in any RBLs.
