The emails to let you know someone has left a message on the Sol Message board for you, and I expect it also covers the notification of the posting of comments on the story comments after your story if you have that enabled.

The default used to be once a week. For anybody used to that, those who haven't touched their notifications and they're used to getting some notifications, that will stop.
So if those people wanted to make sure to keep receiving their notifications, they would have to change the new default.

I have mine set at "Once per day" so I guess I'm not affected by the change.
By the way, next to "Once per week" it has "default" in parentheses. That sounds like your default change didn't take effect.
