I was selecting a score for a story and got the message "Voting; Please Wait." I waited a about half a minute and them moved on. Did my vote count?

Does that inform readers of their previous vote?
Yes, your prior vote comes up as the default for the vote. For general information, contrary to how it seems that some people consider it, only your most recent vote counts so there's no point in voting max or min multiple times.
