Both of the Quinn stories were last updated a few seconds after midnight (my time zone) on August 3 2017.
Which is 4 years (+ two weeks) ago.
Stories are archived when the author has been missing for 5 years.
As it happens, both stories were started in the first few days of January 2017. Which is also less than five years ago.

Ah. I really liked sea king and it's sequels (even if the series is unfinished). I'm going to have to start thinking about premium account then...if it was only cheaper...

You don't commit to a premier account forever-more, you can buy just a month occasionally to catch up on things - and, since you get easy downloading as part of the premier experience, you can easily grab what you want to catch up on for later perusal. IIRC, the overall level of premier memberships is only about 1 month per 3-4 years averaged over all members, so just buying a month every year (give yourself a yuletide present) gets you above average and supports the site. The cost isn't that great - you could more than pay for it by taking a cut lunch rather than having a McDonalds (gak!) once a month.

It's cheap at the moment. The daily download/access limit is at the moment 300 (as of August 2021), pre covid it was 100, it's probably being lowered back to 100 in the future.
In one month you can download/access 9000+ stories....
