I may have missed an announcement, but as of 9 August 2021, i am finding on my Updates screen that some story entries have a grey background. On my current update screen, "A paladin's War" has normal white background, while "Tyche" has a grey background. Not occurring with New Stories.
I am a premium member - but not certain if that has any effect.

Fixed.
But you have to reload the page a couple of times to reload the javascript file that implements this.
I thought it was handy as it only highlighted stories I am reading but now its back to as it was.

Are you talking about the global Updated stories list or the active serials list in your My Library?
For me, the global new stories and updates lists are all one background color.
However the story lists under my library have lines in alternating background colors (light green and white in classic theme.
Has there been a recent change to the display format?
When looking at the "Top Downloads" and "Recent Top Stories" lists, it's displaying using the "Modern Light" format.
Clicking on "Classic" and then "Save Listings Settings" doesn't have any effect on the format (Clicking and saving Modern Dark makes it go dark, clicking & Saving Classic makes it light- but the format doesn't change).
My "Screen Layout" is set to "Desktop Layout".
When looking at the "Top Downloads" and "Recent Top Stories" lists, it's displaying using the "Modern Light" format.
I use the "Classic" format in my profile settings and I am seeing the two mentioned lists in that format.
Note: I like the dark color scheme, but I hate the modern layout and I wish Lazeez would offer a dark classic.

Top Downloads Classic
Recent Top Scores Modern
Most Popular Classic
Complete Stories
Top Downloads Was Modern, but became Classic during clicking spree
Recent Top Stories Modern
Recent Top Serials Was Modern, but became Classic during clicking spree
Older Stories
Top Short Stories Classic
Top Long Stories Classic
All Time Short Classics Classic
All Time Long Classics
Authors' Favourites Classic
Concluded Serials Premier Service Required
Up for Archival Classic
And while making up this list, everything became Classic again, except for Ongoing Serials "Most Popular" which became Modern, but then reverted to Classic several clicks later.
And Ongoing Serials "Most Recent Top Scores" which was Modern, then Classic, but now back to Modern again.
Could be work in progress?
I'll see how things are later tonight.
