Button panel and bookshelf background

I do not have a very fast internet connection. When I go to SOL, the 'button' panel displays, then after a noticeable pause, the bookshelf background displays. Unfortunately the button panel does not display at the same coordinates as before over the bookshelf background, but displaced downwards. The effect of this is if I click one of the buttons before the bookshelf background displays, sometimes I get the wrong button actioned.

Please can the button panel be displayed at the same coordinates, to (hopefully) eliminate this problem ?

You mean the site's splash screen with the girls?

Why not bookmark the site's home page instead so you skip the whole thing?

I don't get this splash screen at all, not even if I just use https://storiesonline.net. It goes straight to the home page which loads for me in less then a second.

If you're logged in then you're automatically forwarded to the home page.

OK, I'll start at the home screen instead. I do rather like the splash screen, though :-)
