Bookapy Login

awnlee jawking ๐Ÿšซ

I seem to recall visiting Bookapy via the SOL link soon after the announcement was made. However, when I tried it a few seconds ago, it reported that my login was invalid.

Is my memory disappearing faster than shit off a shovel or is this a site change?

It should work, unless you changed your password recently and somehow the log in change didn't propagate to the various sites.

On SOL, try going to the 'My Account' page and click 'Push Log in to ID Server'. If it gives you an error, let me know.

If it reports success, try the bookapy link again and let me know what happens.

Bookapy did not recognize my login attempt. tried id push still did not recognize login. Had to ask to create an account then it finely recognized email and let me login. Seems to be working for me now.

I haven't changed my password since I was forced to change my e-mail address, and that was a lonnngggggg time ago. Nevertheless I tried the ID push and it didn't work for me either unless there's some sort of cache delay (no, I don't know what I'm talking about).

I don't know whether this helps, but I can hop over to Scifictories and Finestories with no problem.

@awnlee jawking

I manually checked the ID server record and all the site's cached records and they all have the same exact credentials for your account.

So clicking the links on the home page of any of the sites to switch to the others should work flawlessly for you.

Try restarting your browser, clearing your browser's cache or rebooting your system. Something is wrong and it's not on any of the sites as far as I can see.

I shut down Chrome, which I've set to automatically clear all cookies, and rebooted my computer overnight.

I can hop over to SFS and FS but I still get my login credentials rejected by BA.

Are you able to set a trace on what login credentials are being received by BA?

ETA - I repeated the test with Firefox, with the same result.

Same here, FS and SFS auto-login, but bookapy shows 'Email address/Password combination invalid (1)'. It did accept my password when manually entered, but Firefox asked to save password for bookapy, it does not for FS and SFS. It does the same thing if I log out and then try to use the home page link, while still logged in to SOL.

The error appears to be in the crosslink script on the Home page as when I click on the link it says shows the link and then a long string of code. When the link activates the page has a big yellow block that says

Email address/Password combination invalid (1)

But when I click for it to take my Logon ID and Password it logs me in OK.

Just tried logging in by entering the URL as:

https://bookapy.com/

and it took me to the page and let me log in OK. I suggest all those having an issue try entering the URL instead of using the link and see what happens.

So, I'm logged into SoL, I try Ernest's link, all ok.

I log out of bookapy. Use the back button to return to SoL, I refresh, I'm still logged into SoL, I use the home page link to go to Bookapy, where I'm logged out and yes, I get the incorrect password message.

Since I use a MB Pro with fingerprint ID, I touch that and immediately get logged in.

Not sure if that helps you Lazeez..?

After more 'playing' I think there is a bug.

First note that in the following every time I open SoL I use a bookmark. Every time I open SF, Fine or Bookapy, I use the link on the SoL home page.

So, starting on the SoL home page. I use the link to go to SF, where I'm logged in. I log out. I close the page and open a new one, I go to Sol, I'm logged in. I go to SF, where I am logged in.

Same applies exactly if I do that with FS.

But.

If I do the exact same thing with Bookapy, when I log out, close the page, open SoL in a new page then go to Bookapy, I'm logged out and get the password error.

(Note: open new page = open new browser window)

So, whilst it might not be a bug, it seems Bookapy acts differently to both SF and FS.

Over to you Lazeez.

Lazeez Jiddan (Webmaster)

There was a bug in Bookapy's log in page.

I fixed it. Unless there are more than one bug, it should be working properly now.

Not strictly On Topic, but: there are three pages of entries there and they appear to be unsorted (it is probably by date). Are there plans to introduce some form of indexed structure? As in Author -> book?

Switch Blayde ๐Ÿšซ

@Dinsdale

As in Author

If you click on the author's name, you'll get only his books.

Given the current number of authors it's not really an issue. Based on how the other WLP sites have evolved I'd bet Lazeez will add features as and when doing so makes sense.

Ooo, just think of the possible sort options: price, size, date of publication, popularity, alphabetical by title, alphabetical by author, rating (runs for cover).

Not an issue as not even those in the 'erotica' section have codes or tags...!!!

So none of our sensitive souls will dare to read them lest their delicate sensibilities be ripped asunder... *Gasp*

I was thinking of the natural progression of facilities demanded by customers if Bookapy takes off.

Whilst I freely admit to being in awe of Lazeez's skill set, I'm not confident aeronautical engineer is one of his talents, so I doubt Bookapy will ever actually fly...
