Firefox Warning

Sparky-1953 ๐Ÿšซ

This morning while reading a story here I had a power blip and dropped offline. When my router reconnected Firefox issued a threat warning and recommended against connecting to Stories On Line by name. It said the threat could steal passwords and other confidential information. Is something up? I've never had that happen before.

It was just a one time thing when my uverse reconnected. I was just curious as I'd never seen it before.

I've seen something similar, but not on SOL.

That's because your router was still not connected, and it intecepted your connection to display it's own page.

But SOL is SSL and your router certificate (if any) isn't valid for SOL.

You were seeing the invalid certificate page for Firefox (on a grey background).

If Google identified a real threat on SOL, firefox would display a similarily worded warning but the page would be on a red background.
