After I post a new chapter, it might be cool to get an email when it is published. It would stop me from checking every half hour or so. :)

And perhaps send email to the moderator when new chapters are posted.
They already have a system for that, otherwise they wouldn't know what to moderate :D

That's a useful suggestion, especially for those of us who tend to publish weird text (html based or in foreign languages), so we can review how the posted chapter displays so we can make corrections before everyone has already read and complained about it).
Perhaps a flag we could include while posting for 'potentially problematic chapter', so it'll flag both the moderator and notify the poster so we can review the final post. That way it wouldn't affect all the authors who post in plain text, but for those of us who like to get extravagant, in helps minimize the damage in incorrect postings.
I posted a chapter yesterday on scifi-stories, but not yet moderated/published. I see on SOL, lots of chapters have been updated today. Is it a different moderator (for scifi-stories), who is away this weekend?

Possibly. However you have to appreciate that the pressure on the moderators for scifi-stories is out of this world...
