Problem with new messaging system

aubie56 🚫

I just received a message with a typo correction for my latest story. I "archived" it because I save my error messages to make the corrections on a specific story all at once. However, I also wanted to respond to the sender to thank him for the error report and also to comment on something else he said, but now I have lost the "reply" function for his message.

How do I handle that?

@aubie56

Usually, you act on the message and after you're done with it, you archive it.

ETA: Fixed. Archived messages now has the 'Reply' link.

Thank you for the quick service.

As I reported before, the new messaging system is cutting the original messages when one replies. I don't know about the reader's end, but each message I reply to loses it's last line entirely (i.e. it has nothing to do with character or word count).

For readers, may I suggest you enter a couple extra blank lines in your messages until Lazeez addresses this. I've learned to copy the entire message each time I respond, but it takes a LOT more time, especially when I forget to.

It's not a killer bug, but since I frequently respond to puns in the text itself, I often respond to lines no longer in the reply, which just confuses things. :(

One additional detail, I've mistakenly hit "Report" instead of "Reply" on the "Message Input" form at least once (if not more). Luckily, it keeps responding "unable to comply" so it hasn't (as far as I know) mistakenly penalized anyone, but it seems like a potential problem. Maybe we should have an additional "Oops! I didn't really mean that" button for us dummies. 'D

Update: Lezeez fixed this without bothering to comment. The messaging system now includes the full comment, each time you reply to it.

Thanks, Lazeez!
