Feature to hide AI Generated stories?

farkle76 ๐Ÿšซ

I would love to have a preference setting to globally hide all AI Generated stories: hide them in my view of Stream, My Stream, Top Stories, etc. I never want to see *any* AI slop.

Since it's shown as a category, you should be able to add it to your category exclusions. With some recent changes that Lazeez made to also filter the front page (thank you, again, Lazeez!) it should do a pretty good job of what you want.

It's very doable. It's done through category exclusion preference.

However, you need a premier membership to have access to exclusions.

Can we please add the ai exclusion to non premium?

There needs to be reasons for paying for Premium, otherwise no-one would do so and the site would not be financially viable to run...

And an annual sub works out to about $5.65/mo, or about the cost of a cup of coffee or two.

Yes, I know some people are on very limited budgets, but running websites isn't free, and Lazeez needs to pay the bills. As the saying goes, "Somebody has to pay".

You can also earn free Premier access by contributing stories to SOL.

*Free Premier lacks perks of the paid Premier. Like not being able to vote in competitions.

It's literally the only difference. And only because too many people have more than one premier level author account and can affect contest results.

too many people have more than one premier level author account and can affect contest results.

That never occurred to me. I thought people just added another pseudonym to their account, rather than creating an entirely new account.

You'd think so, but I've found out that no, not always. Many people create one user account per pen name.

A lot of authors incorrectly add the AI attribute to their stories so you will be missing a lot of handcrafted stories if you avoid AI tagged stories.

But the drek ratio is significantly improved by filtering out all with this tag.

The AI tag is added automatically by the system when the AI-detector assesses a probability of 50% or more that the story is AI-generated.

My understanding is that it can also be manually added by the author.

You're right. I just 'managed' one of my own stories and it allowed me to check the 'AI generated' tag. I wonder how that works because, if the tag has been added automatically, can an author delete it?

Lazeez would have to answer that.

If the tag was added automatically, then the author would need to convince Lazeez to remove it.

I don't recall if Lazeez has mentioned if the AI tag added manually by the author can be removed at a later date or not.

Worse case, the author would need to request the removal of that tag - but I imagine the story would be tested for AI text before the tag is removed.

there are two ways a story gets the AI Generated tag.

The soft one, which is like every other tag, and is added by the author, and that one can be removed by the author.

The hard flag is added by me or the system and that cannot be removed by the author. The author would have to request its removal and yes, the story will be retested to see if the flag should be removed.

I add it myself to the stories I post, and yes they are AI generated. If I were to go back and remove that manually added tag, what would happen?
