I've never seen an expiration date 10 years into the future.
I extended the allowable period, now it accepts till 2037.

I haven't seen one, but it makes sense. Issuing physical bank cards is an expense. The banks save money if they don't have to issue new cards as often.
I feel like a lot of people, mostly those younger than my old ass, just put their card into Google Pay or Apple Pay and rarely use the physical card, so it would make sense to extend the expiration as the trend expands.
Contactless is probably a factor. Repeatedly shoving a card into card readers for chip-and-pin transactions shortens its life considerably.

Mag strips were even worse. I wore out a couple of Amex cards when I was traveling 200 days a year for work back in the 90s.

BofA & Discover each had to replace several of mine when they wouldn't swipe anymore.
