Two display bugs and a feature enhancement request

Viewing the author page in Firefox on an iPad in split screen mode (should be similar to viewing on a phone in portrait mode) and have the top two display lines of the page appearing underneath the two yellow notification banners. Makes it impossible to toggle follow for author or get to home button.

Second, stories with no chapters don't show the update times on the more info story view.

Feature request is also about more info view… would really appreciate if this view would show the uploaded and scheduled in future release dates for future chapters. This would assist readers in deciding whether to start a new story immediately. I tend to wait for a story to be completed before starting, but if it's already completed, just scheduled for posting over time, then that satisfies my personal expectations and I am more likely to start reading.

Would also like to see a link there to the bookapy entry for the story if it's available.

Those notifications aren't static. They have a link on the right to 'Hide', so you either act on the notification by clicking on it, or hide it.

Still, I made a change to make them remain in the header and get pushed down along with the big color box.

Yes. The update date shows when the latest chapter(s) was added. It's a single part, no chapters, so no update date. Where would I pull the update date from to display?

For various reasons that is not a great idea. For most readers it would be "since it's there and written, why are you making me wait, here is a vote of 1 to show my displeasure at having to wait."

Would also like to see a link there to the bookapy entry for the story if it's available.

Many times an attached bookapy link is for another story/book, so not always advisable to display it.

For various reasons that is not a great idea. For most readers it would be "since it's there and written, why are you making me wait, here is a vote of 1 to show my displeasure at having to wait."

It's my perception that when an author is posting chapters of a finished story at regular intervals, they frequently blog to that effect. So it's worth readers checking the author's blog posts.

As an example, Recipes, by Danny January, according to a blog post a while back was updated. But look at the more info or story details area and it shows only the original 2008 posting date. Either the author never updated it or the system doesn't show the update dates.

Does the system allow a single item (non chartered) story to be edited and updated/reposted? If so, where is the indication for that to be seen by readers? I'd expect it to be seen in the more info, aka store details display.

Yes, single part stories get updated with fixed text sometime. It's shown at the end of the story.

It's fixed.

While viewing an author's page, hold down the shift key and click the reload button on your browser a couple of times to force reload the stylesheet and you'll see the difference.

There appears to be a second type of author page, most are a maroon header behind the name and those pages are displayed as noted above with the yellow banners above the author name block. But there are at least two authors I've seen today who have blue banners that have the yellow banner lines overlap with the author area, blocking access to the navigation and follow buttons.

Aroslav and the Outsider are both showing the alternate blue header with yellow banners over the top. Not sure what the commonality is between them though.

You need to hard refresh the blue theme author pages. The change was made to the maroon ones and the blue ones. I checked the pages you mention and both have the yellow banners above the author's info and the links on the right hand side are not overlapped.

Wow, so this old style sheet survived multiple restarts and even multiple upgrades of the browser itself.

Confirmed that pulling it down in the iPad does indeed refresh the page and it is displayed properly.

Sorry for the false alarm. Never would have guessed that would persist through so many restarts and updates.
