I have access to the "other site name" because some hotels or private access points block storiesonline.net. My mobile phone and Laptop are both set up to use that name.
A couple of days ago I was in a hotel and wanted to upvote a couple of the nominees. No can do - as far as the site was concerned I was not logged in to SOL.
No big deal, I'm home again now and did it from here.

You don't need to be logged into SOL to add your vote for a nomination on the clitorides site.
I just verified it.
I logged in at the alternative site. Copied a story URL from the alternative site.
Clicked the awards site link from the alternative site's home page.
viewed the existing nominees. Added my vote to one of the stories by clicking the +, it worked. Removed my vote by clicking the (-), it worked.

Pasted the URL that I had previously copied, I hit tab, the form was prefilled and the URL was replaced with a storiesonline.net one.
As far as I can tell, all works as expected.
