Minor (I think) feature request

limab ๐Ÿšซ

My eyes are getting worse and while the site is readily and easily adjustable (Thanks Lazeez!), the font on the hoverover can't seem to be adjusted. I.e. I was looking through my Historical Access and when the cursor is over the title the story blurb pops up. The problem is the font is getting to small for my eyes, is there any way to increase that font size?

@limab

That is a function of the browser. The site uses the 'Title' property to make the info available on hover.

To fix it I would have to replace the browser's display with one that I create.

We'll see.

Try the zoom shortcut. In Safari, it's the command key with the + key. In Windows, I think it's the control key with the + key.

Each time you hit the combination, the font gets bigger. When you hit the command or control key with the - key, it does the opposite (gets smaller). Command or control with the 0 key sets it back to 100%.

I have eye issues too and use it often. However, I don't know if it works on the hoover font.

@Switch Blayde

Just tried your solution in Firefox- it doesn't change that font size. It looked funny with 30+ font words and 10 font hover. Thanks for the reply.

From previous Forum posts, I'm pretty sure what AJ is using is an older version of Firefox.

I'm pretty sure what AJ is using is an older version of Firefox.

And I'm pretty sure he's too stupid to use all but a fraction of its capabilities.

Heck, he even still buys newspapers printed on dead trees so he can write tiny numbers in the squares when tackling Sudoku problems.

Whereas those of us with a more modern bent write those numbers on the screen with a (water soluble) felt tip pen.
Ya can't stop progress!

... or a whiteboard marker

-which brings to mind, How do you tell a blonde's computer?

The screen is covered with blobs of Tippex (Whiteout)

For the future if you need it...I'm using FF 134.0 and have the magnification set at 120 for sol, scifi, and fine stories, and when hovering over "history" or "story stats" the numbers and words are enlarged as well.

Would reading glasses be a viable option if a technological solution proves too difficult?

Implemented. The info display now displays a box where the text is the same size as the listings. It works in the history list, my library listings and the daily download stats in the story stats page.

You know, a pure css solution is possible, no need for javascript.

something like:
a:hover {
position: relative;
}

a[data-tt]:hover:after {
content: attr(data-tt);
padding: .5rem .8rem;
color: #000;
position: absolute;
left: 0;
top: 100%;
white-space: nowrap;
z-index: 1;
background:yellow;
}

Neat. I'll just leave it as is for now. It works well enough.

ETA: I tested your solution in Safari, firefox and Chrome. The Javascript version produces a more pleasant and predictable behaviour. I'll stick with the javascript version.

THANK YOU! It was minor, but it makes it so much easier to search read stories.
