Forum thread "ignore" not working

junior15 ๐Ÿšซ

For a while now, I've been able to shift+click on the green circle next to a forum thread and it would mark it as permanently read (it wouldn't show up as unread when a new post was made to that thread). Maybe it was control+click, but I think it was shift+click...muscle memory just makes it happen and now that I'm thinking about it, I can't remember which one it is.

However, when I try it today, nothing happens. I can click on the button with no modifier keys and it marks the thread as read or unread, but shift+click and ctrl+click does nothing

I'm using Edge, but I've also tried Firefox. I tried in private browsing mode to make sure it wasn't a plugin issue. I also tried Chrome on a different computer and my experience was the same in all instances. Was this feature removed or changed, is this a bug, or am I just doing something wrong? I really like having this feature available and would miss it if it is no longer available.

Thanks.

@sunseeker

The read/unread part works just fine, it's the additional functionality of marking it at permanently read so it never shows up as unread again that isn't working.

The forum's code hasn't been touched for a long while now.

If it stopped working now, it means something isn't working in the browser. The read/unread thing is browser based. So nothing on the server affects it.

Try rebooting your computer.

It's shift+click.

OK, thanks. I'll try that, but since I tried on another computer, it just seemed odd that it stopped working on 3 different browsers on two different computers.

I tried it today with a thread and it remained marked as read despite it getting new posts. So it's working on my computer.

OK, I'll have to figure out what changed on my computers that caused it to stop working. I've made sure my browsers are on the latest versions, rebooted my computer, tried a different computer (one a VM, one a physical computer) and it still isn't working. Two of the browsers I've tried it on, I've never accessed SOL on before, so that rules out a cache or cookie in the browser issue.
