for a while now I have lost the read chapters in the chapter list, the title shows red, sometimes the author does, but none of the read chapters change to red in the chapter list

The chapters URL changed from /s/id/title-slug-[n|chapter-slug] to /s/id/title-slug/n
So I guess the chapters read before the change lost their visited state due to that URL structure chapter changes.
If you had a Premium account and added the story to your library, the current chapter is still remembered in your Library bookmark.
You can search your browser full history for the story id
You should then see a list of url ending in -n and /n the highest n should give you your current reading position n is not the chapter number, you need to take the preface/Intro etc. into account).
My understanding is that that's not something built into SOL, it's a function of your browser remembering links you've previously visited.
A change in the URL like Gauthier mentioned could do it. Another possibility is that the memory of links visited will be lost if you clear your browser cache.
thanks for your reply, at least that is something I can cross off the list, as I have been caught by that before when i cleared stuff in the past, another time they all went when firefox got updated, whats puzzling is that the title is still marked as seen where the chapter progress has been wiped oh well never mind slightly annoying though when a story is slow to post, so when you see it again progress is missing
once I have found my place though it starts to register again so thats something
god knows how many stories I have on the go lol
