The latest contest closed a couple of days ago. Looking at one of the entries I noticed:
This story is a contest entry. Please cast your vote. Your vote could be the one to decide whether this story wins or loses.
For that to be true, votes cast after the contest closed would still affect the standings.

I think that's just another case of story descriptions not being updated in a timely fashion as circumstances change.

Oh, agreed, but I'm assuming those descriptions are automatically added and that maybe it's time to automatically subtract them.
It could be a cache problem at your end, as those descriptions don't come up on my screen...
I have looked at two stories - one multi-chapter and one single chapter - and both have the text at the end of the last (or only) chapter, just above the point where you vote.
Looking at a third story - and not one I've looked at before - the same. I don't know where you're looking.
I see now. It's in the actual story. I thought you were meaning that it was part of the synopsis.

It is definitely fixed, both for single-chapter and for multi-chapter stories.
Errr, nope. I didn't see it, I thought (wrongly) that the phrase "This story is a contest entry. Please cast your vote. Your vote could be the one to decide whether this story wins or loses." was part of the synopsis and was confused because I couldn't see it. No knowing that it is actually is at the end of the story.
Going by AJ's comment, I took it that they also thought it was part of the synopsis.

You have to remember that Pixy and AJ are on this side of the pond, and you and the SOL servers are on that side, so you need to allow a little more time for the electrons to make the journey (grin)
Dunno about Pixy but I'm pretty sure I'm on the same side of the pond as AJ, and even Laz nowadays.
Sorry about the insult - I thought of the lazy electrons line and had to get it in, then after posting thought 'Hang on, he's over here as well I think - Oh well, I'll fix it in the morning".
I was trying to work out how to get the data delivery in a suitable timeframe, but the packets needed delivery faster than Concord could manage, and I didn't fancy trying to explain how they were routed via Mars, so I gave up and posted what I had then went to bed.
