Greying Out of New Stories does not work at the moment

This is about the New Stories index element on a PC, Premier Membership.
The stories which were already there the last time I looked at "New Stories" should have a different (grey) background and at the moment, they don't. I have to go on to page 2 before that effect cuts in.
This may well have something to do with the Contest currently running, at the moment the last entry on page one is a contest entry and the first one on page two is not part of the contest.
I have been going backwards and forwards between pages 1 and 2 since yesterday, a few minutes ago the greying out started about 6 stories in on page 2, now it starts at the top.
Update Stories is unaffected, so is the main page (which had the problem yesterday as well).

when the contest entries were released, there were 21 new stories added. Which usually is two pages+ if you haven't increased your listings count per page.

The greying work when you see a greyed out story. So let's say that 21 stories is 2 pages + 1 story for you, if you never reach page 3, then the greying out never kicks in until you reach page 3.

I checked it and it's working as designed.

The magic number is 30, and I know about the trick of getting past all new entries.

But it started working again at some point you said right?

With story listings, it would help if you report also which theme you're using and if you're on mobile or desktop.

As of right now, it does not work for page 1. Page 2 is now greyed out normally.
I said - in the very first line - "on a PC" which was supposed to be interpreted as "desktop".
As to the Theme, I had to search for that (I didn't know what that meant) and the answer is Classic.

It would really surprise me if I'm the only one having this problem.

As of right now, it does not work for page 1.

Fixed.

There was a bug in the dimming script that tripped over contest stories that were multiple chapters and read by the user.

So the bug only hit when I read a story - hmmm! And 130 other people read that story.

Nobody else reported the issue. So maybe they didn't notice the greying stopped or expected to be fixed on its own. Well, to everybody else, it kind of did.
