@Dominions SonFortunately, Apple allows you to select the date format independent of the region, and the options are:
M/D/YY (single or double digits)
MM/DD/YY (always double digits)
DD/MM/YYYY
DD.MM.YYYY
DD-MM-YYYY
YYYY/M/D (single or double digits)
YYYY.MM.DD
YYYY-MM-DD [My preferred]
There are also independent selections for calendar (13, including Muslim[x4], Japanese, Hebrew, Buddhist), number format (including both the , as the decimal separator and the decimal point), temperature, measurements, (US, Metric, and the hilariously combined UK system), and sort order.
Even better, I can set the language options by app (e.g. Word defaults to Russian or Pages defaults to Swedish, etc).
Makes it very easy to make things look exactly the way I want. ๐
