You can go to the listings preferences page:

and fix your settings. You probably should choose automatic screen layout.
The listings settings page usually overrides anything. If that is not working for you, I have no idea what would.
Some android browser offer a simplified page view. which totally take over the site settings.
Make sure you use the chrome browser on android.
The default browser, is usually the one supplied by the phone manufacturer (a proprietary variant of chromium) and not Chrome.
I use Firefox on my phone, without any such difficulties.
Samsung also had their own browser for a while but I never felt the need to use that. They claimed at one point that it was one of the most popular browsers around, the basis for that was the number of times it was downloaded. I assumed each update counted as a download, and this on a browser you could not remove.
