Unable to remove stories from Active Serials list

1fallenwon1 ๐Ÿšซ

I've been trying to remove a few stories from my Active Serials list but the system won't save the unchecked state on Bookmarks. I can add or remove tags fine. I can update whether a story is in my Queue. But the checkbox for Active Serial does not get saved.

@1fallenwon1

usually that option is to force completed multi-chapter stories to show up in the active serials list.

But you're right, its functionality seems buggy.

Why do you want to remove stories from the active serials list?

Have you checked out line #12 and line #14 in the library's preferences page? Usually those settings take care of issues like yours automatically.

Under normal circumstances, a completed serial you added to your library (before it was completed) will stay on the active serials list until you access the last chapter. Once you have accessed the last chapter it should drop off the active serial list.

In this case I am trying to purge a couple of stories that are inactive, and even if they did update again I dont want to read them. Preference 12 would hide them for now, but if they got updated they would show again. I also like being able to see all my Active Serials, so that I can remember the last time they were updated (which helps me determine if a new post is due soon).

In the past I have used the checkbox to remove stories that I havent started reading yet from Active Serials list.

and even if they did update again I dont want to read them.

Then why not remove them from your library altogether? That should get them off the active serials list.

@1fallenwon1

So that when the stories show up in a search 2 years from now, I'll be able to see my tags and remember which story it is.

@1fallenwon1

I'll be fixing the functionality today, however, it won't work as you expect it.

The story will be hidden from the active serials list, but when/if the story gets updated, its status will change in the library and it will show up again on top of the Active Serials list.

I won't change that as it will mess with the expectation of the majority of other users.

Your use case is peculiar.

I'll think of something other than the library to solve your use case. I don't know how yet.

I'll be able to see my tags and remember which story it is.

I added a new functionality to the site. Premier members can now add a note to any story on the site, independent of whether a story is bookmarked or not.

Can't do that with tags. But the note can now be applied to any story.

There is a new note icon in the listings for that.

I just saw that and went, what the heck is that? There wasn't a site announcement yet (I'm sure that's coming) so I was a little curious until I found this. Very cool, thank you!

independent of whether a story is bookmarked or not.

PATH 1
step 1 In Listing Add note, ok
step 2 Create Bookmark, ok initial note is filled in in the bookmark.
step 3 Delete bookmark: ok. But the note is now gone too.

So it's not independent on delete, but I do not want it to be anyway.

PATH 2
step 1 Bookmark Story
step 2 Back to listing add note

Buggy display :
[bt note] Note: my note
My Tags: null

Note: That feature take up a lot a screen real estate.

Unable to replicate.

It can be turned off in the library's preferences, line #19.

Unable to replicate.

My bad, it doesn't occur on a new bookmark.

But When I add a note to an (old) existing bookmark trough the story listing Note button, the My Tags: null show up.
There must be something different with my 3 months old bookmarks.

In excruciatingly bad taste: if it's a pedo story, the note could be A Flat Minor ;-)
