Forum: Bug Report and Feature Requests

Just a little suggestion

LonelyDad ๐Ÿšซ

It would be nice if after one loaded the Forum from the server a page refresh would be triggered so that the forum home page could reflect which forums had no new content. I know this is kind of nit-picky, but it would be a nice touch and shouldn't be hard to implement.

Thanks for considering my suggestion, and keep on maintaining a premier story site.

Have you not noticed the All Threads by Date section?

Have you not noticed the All Threads by Date section?

That's how I get into the Forum.

The only time I go to the main Forum page is when I create a thread.

Um - I'm a little confused, because when I click on the forum, those with no new content show shaded, those with new content show white.

Have you never clicked the 'all read' little checkmark, which would make EVERYTHING in that forum topic show as read? If not, then you need to do so, to take care of the stuff from years ago that you never read. Otherwise, it's always going to show you there's new stuff.

ETA: Also, don't forget to click the 'Sync Read to Server' at the bottom, so if you log in from a different computer, you can then click the 'Get read from Server'.

Sure, once you are in a specific forum.

The OP is asking for an indicator on the top level forum list of which forums have unread threads.

Why the all threads by date doesn't meet his need I have no idea.

Nope. I click on FORUM, and it shows Site Announcements, Author Hangout, Story Discussion and Feedback, etc., and the ones with no new comments are shaded, and the specific sections where there ARE new comments are white.

I hadn't noticed that. But then I always use All Threads By Date unless I want to start a new thread.
